isqineeha: Egyptian Artist Moatz Nasr, Propaganda: Part One (2008) Propaganda is a series of wall embroideries by Moataz Nasr, which recreate on fabric the visual and literal components of the leaflets the United States Military distributed over Iraq and its neighbouring regions upon the invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003. Moataz Nasr used a style similar to that used by Egyptian appliqué embroidery to portray not only the violence and brutality of the U.S. military, but also the nature of the language used to persuade Iraqis and others against resisting the invasion, which is an aspect that can be approached from multiple areas.
