beltsquid:beltsquid:elenafisher:Video Game Challenge - 6/7 Sceneries: The Beach House (Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End)#I love the contrast between their New Orleans house and this one#because this house is so open and airy#it feels like a relaxed and friendly home#and while the New Orleans home is also nice and warm#it’s a little cramped#it feels like it’s holding in all this tension waiting to exhale#it houses two people who are happy with each other but unfulfilled in almost all other pursuits#trapped by promises and longing#the beach house has more people living in it and still feels spacious#yet full and lived in#it makes me think of the contrast between the real home and the other home in Coraline#and how well they used the space to communicate where the characters were at mentally and physicallyvia @unrated-g#I mean just the lighting difference#their NOLA house is nice but it’s overall pretty dark#(elena’s in the brightest spot in the house pretty much)#the beach house is filled with light#also re: houses and lighting#compare the beach house to evelynn’s mansion#they’re both full of trophies and records of accomplishments#but the differences between the two couldn’t be more profound#so many homes in this gamevia @rhiannon42GEEZ SO MANY GREAT TAG OBSERVATIONS ON THIS POST. Anyway yeah, I just got through New Devon on my current playthrough and I was struck by the recurring “home” theme of the game as Nate kept commenting about which pirate house they were in. But anyway! About Evelyn’s house in regards to the two Drake-Fisher homes: Nate’s attic is full of boxes of stuff, not unlike Evelyn’s home. But in the epilogue, they’re nowhere to be found, and Nate has pared down what he decided to keep to one small closet. He literally unpacked his baggage. -- source link
