mistymacallister:I’ve been on a road trip, so I haven’t had time to post. Not because I was traveling, but because I was traveling with a cold that had gotten worse. And then I passed said cold on to my traveling partner, so we both ended up sick and unable to drive. So I’ve learned a lesson: It’s best not to start a trip when you have a cold. Oh, and this morning I was feeling really good, so I took my clothes off, and took some photos, and now I’m sick again. Oh well…I’ve been so looking forward to this road trip. I love road trips, especially because I didn’t grow up in the US and traveling through the country by car is a great way to experience this country. I saw a LAUREL AND HARDY museum while on the highway but we couldn’t stop because we were too sick and we couldn’t wait to get to a hotel as soon as possible. Oh, actually, maybe the lesson here should be DON’T TRAVEL IN WINTER? I don’t think so, though. Nothing should stop you from doing what you want, not even the seasons. The weather, that’s different. Inclement weather can easily stop you from doing what you want. * Anyway, I can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow. Here are my impressions from my road trip so far: Driving out of Texas takes forever - it’s a really big place - but if you’re patient you’ll make it out. In Louisiana always expect rain, get ready for a bumpy ride, and don’t drink too much water because there are no rest stops - the only rest stop I saw was closed. Mississippi is much faster to cross than Texas; you’re in and out before you know it. Alabama is much prettier than the name suggests. To me it sounds like a person with a blank face/no expression, but I found Alabama to be far from a blank face. It has rolling hills, nice rest stops, and lots of trees - and any place who’s a friend of trees is a friend of mine. Georgia has a Laurel and Hardy Museum, so how bad can it be? But that was where I was feeling really sick and vomited and etc., so it was pretty bad for me. Of South Carolina I can only say what it looked like in the dark. As you drive toward the coast there were so many pirate-themed billboards that it made me wonder if this was the pirate state. #mistymacallister #roadtrip https://www.instagram.com/p/Bso6s6sg6GM/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=lohtg6knjt7w -- source link
