Satellite view of the Ural Mountains (Russia).The Urals are the dividing line between Europe and Asia, and alsoform the western boundary of Siberia. The northernmost sector of theUrals are called the Polar Urals, and the Nether-Polar Urals are justto the south of them. Both these sections are shown in this image;they are characterized by glaciers and are known as permafrostregions. Mount Narodnaya (1,894m) is the highest peak of the UralMountains.North-west of the Urals is the Barents Sea, with Kolguyev Island inthe middle of it. Bugrino is the only inhabited settlement on theisland, with a population of around 300 people. -- source link
