obvdrc:[check photo captions for details]Final parts of the process of creating an original character and uploading to VRChat. First parts are in the post before this.Pretty fun project all around and its pretty awesome to come up with a character and in less than a week later, fully realize it, bring it to life, and become that character in VR.I’ve also loaded the model itself up to Sketchfab which you can check out here: https://skfb.ly/6GoKCI should mention that when I created the lip sync shape keys in blender, I only made three of them and then used the CATS Blender Plugin on github to automatically do the rest - really useful tool for that purpose, didn’t use it really otherwise. Also used the Blender Material Combiner add-on on github after I decided to add the hat/hair to the base mesh and make it a single mesh. This kind of messed up the quality of the texture a little bit and I had to go back and fix some things, so I might be more careful of that in the future - it also scaled the texture from 4k to 6k which was kind of worrisome but Unity scaled it back to 4k without it looking too bad. I also applied a quick free toon shading texture I found to the model in Unity before I uploaded to really get the look I wanted.Anyway, it was a pretty awesome experience. If anyone thinks this is really cool and would like me to do a full video tutorial series of the same workflow, let me know. I’m actually surprisingly eager to start a new one of these. Otherwise, feel free to catch me in VRChat and chat. -- source link
