There’s a lot of ways to transition from one scene to another, and the Simpsons use most of them through it’s run, but I think this is a tremendously effective way of doing it. We’re shown the literal and metaphorical distance between Bart and Lisa’s holidays, as well as the physical journey she makes (which is set-up moments prior), all in one swoop. (There’s a great video on how Edgar Wright uses transitions that makes a similar point.) -- source link
