In the beautiful highlands of Thailand, there is always a new mountain peak to scale. Here comes yet another challenge of Doi Nok, a part of Doi Luang National Park that covers three northern provinces of Phayao and Lampang.Doi Nok is a unique peak on the lower part of Doi Luang range, so-called after its shape that looks, to some people’s imagination, like a bulging part of a cow’s neck. Geologically speaking, this is the ridge of the mountain that lines the Phayao-Lampang north-south borders, a place where visitors who dare can venture up, with a combination of trudging, heaving, sweating, and climbing a long arduous trek, to scale to the top.Visitors who are planning should be in their physical prowess and check with the locals for some available guides.
