misscorday:iceinherheart-kissonherlips:The man who gave me this, he was the sort of man who’d know exactly how long a diary you were going to need. [x] #young river realizing this straightaway because she’s brilliant #and more conscious of time than most – in fact more conscious #of how conscious the doctor is of time than most and so she’s got to know #so at first she writes her entries in the smallest handwriting she can manage #she leaves things out when she can stand to and when she thinks #she can get away with it she folds in extra notes or letters #shoves in extra pages she excuses as necessary footnotes or annotations #but as she gets older and wiser and calmer and #a bit more sentimental she can’t stand to leave anything out #and sometimes she has to draw or glue in pictures because she can’t stand to forget #and every time she writes on the back of a page and her right arm rests on the empty half of her diary #she feels it get thinner and thinner and knows it’s the opposite for him #she stops cheating and focuses instead on how exciting it must be for the younger doctor #compiling his adventures with her and feeling their lives and love growing beneath his fingertips #and then she also must know when they go to darillium #because the adventure before that would’ve been the second to last page #river song doesn’t cry at darillium – she’s been counting down to that moment since the word go (@queenriver x) -- source link
