she-kicks-she-throws: naterpie: thestickchick: Should disability prevent rank progression in the martial arts? http://www.thestickchick.com/2015/10/face-off-friday-disability-and.html Hey Stick Chick :)Disability should never affect one’s art or learning path. All and every martial art can be modified to accommodate a person with any impairment. If you study the philosophies and discipline of the art, put your all into practice, and practice what you learn, there is no reason any kind of disabled person can’t flourish and progress in a martial art.-Nat Beautifully put, Nat. I have trained with aikidoka who are blind, who are deaf, who have no arms. Molly Sacco Hale has trained and progressed in rank as a paraplegic, and of course there is real life aikijujitsu master Ole Kingston who was presented as Japanese in fictionalized movie “Aiki.” -- source link
