scissorsandthread:Decorated Cups | Estefi MachadoPorcelaine Pens are lots of fun but unfortunately you can’t use them on plates that you’ll be eating off of (the ink might chip and get in your food… bummer!) But that doesn’t stop you from decorating the outside of glasses! These adorable glasses are so fun - I love the little whale. Or you can do people’s names, numbers, or even doodles.Truebluemeandyou: Thank you so much scissorsandthread for mentioning that you cannot use porcelaine pens on any surface that comes into contact with food! The DIY blogs seems only to read the “non toxic” part of the pen’s description and skip the rest. I’ve commented on lots of blogs about the food warnings - but my comments are never published. I wonder why? The pens being used in the US are generally Pebeo Porcelaine pens and this is what the warnings are (emphasis added):Pebeo Porcelaine 150 Paint Markers contain no toxic ingredients, and conform to ASTM D-4236. Once dried and heat-set, the durable,high-gloss finish is permanent and dishwasher-safe. These markers are not recommended for use on surfaces that come in contact with food. -- source link
