palaeofail:Everything’s about pandas.Just because palaeontologists are learning more about extinct creatures doesn’t mean that conservation efforts are somehow dead. Conservationists are not really affected in any negative way by palaeontology - why would they be? - and, in fact, studying ancient life and why other species went extinct can help us understand how to prevent extinction in the future. Plus, pretty much every palaeontologist I know of is a hardcore conservationist, so I’m not sure what the fuss is about?Also, the recent preserved brain tissue in an ornithopod isn’t the first dinosaur brain tissue known - we’ve known of bird brain tissue for thousands of years. -- source link
