postirony:antifainternational:allthecanadianpolitics:politicalcdnmama:@allthecanadianpolitics Some flag/symbol information so you can know the racists. Thanks for the heads up, and before anyone goes ‘There’s no nazi’s in Canada!”, yes, yes there are:Right-wing extremist groups ‘prevalent’ across Canada, study warnsCanada not immune to right-wing extremismFar-right extremist groups on the rise in Canada, expert saysKnow your enemy@allthecanadianpolitics @antifainternational @antifascistactionwhite nationalists Generation Identity was spewing their anti-immigrant vitriol on campuses across Canada yesterday.Their logo looks like this (in the posters they put up, it’s black):You can see it right here in Charlottesville at the Unite the Right neo-nazi rally, next to American Vanguard, who’s supporter, James Alex Fields Jr, murdered Heather Heyer. They are the latest foreign fascist organization to try to set up shop here, in the typical “alt-right” fashion; putting up posters provocatively. Generation Identity are the Canadian branch of Generation Identitaire, a far-right white nationalist organization with ties to the neo-nazi movement throughout Europe. Previously we’ve had the Soldiers of Odin and the III% from Finland and America, respectively. In Germany, the local affiliate of Generation Identity played a role in the islamophobic PEGIDA organization, which was behind a plot to bomb a refugee centre. PEGIDA spawned it’s own Canadian offshoot, who’s public activity preceded any of Generation Identity’s.Here’s what they don’t know and what you can do.What they’re doing is illegal under 319 (1) of the criminal code. as public incitement of hatred against immigrants. On their facebook page they tell us they were clever enough to take photos of most of the posters they put up as well as give us the time (early morning Sept 11th) which they put them up. Don’t forget to report them while you’re at it because their internet activity is vital to them (and also against Facebook Rules). They were careful to place these in very public places with video surveillance (including the Northrop Frye Hall on the University of Toronto and the Webster Library at Concordia). If you see one on these posters, take a mental note of where you saw it and the location of the closest security camera, call the school and demand a copy of the footage from that camera on the morning of Sept 11th from campus security, you might be able to get a clear view of them in it. They genuinely believe there is no such thing as bad publicity so spread the pictures you have of them far and wide on the web and on campus to see if they can be identified. At this point, all methods are on the table in the fight against fascism. Law Enforcement’s refusal to take the ungoing threat of right-wing violence and terror seriously is complicity. -- source link
