It’s also called 飞鱼服 specifically those worn by 锦衣卫 Jinyiwei during Ming Dynasty. Anything that has “飞鱼” (look like a dragon but has wings and fish tail) are “飞鱼服 ”, could be 曳撒、袍、 直身、貼裏etc. I don’t think the one shown above was a 飞鱼, although 飞鱼 sometimes looked really like a dragon 龍 or almost-dragon (?) 蟒. Based on the stock pictures and the description (x), I think that was indeed a dragon 龍. Five claws and all that. 飞鱼 only has four claws.飞鱼服 had to be awarded by the emperor, but it got relatively common in the later period of Ming dynasty. The formal wears of high rank 锦衣卫 could have 飞鱼 but they were not 曳撒. I am not sure for the informal occasion…Many modern 曳撒 type 飞鱼服 was based on this one but this was owned by the Confucious family, not a 锦衣卫. And it is a Informal wear.
