runicscribbles:If you want to thank someone for turning the symbol of Jewish hope, created by Jewish writers against their Nazi oppressors in WWII into a literal Nazi himself, make sure you drop @nickspencerly and @brevoortformspring a message.I’m sure that this is all some sort of undercover plot twist whatever and we’ll get our hero back, but the fact that they are so comfortable with the casual anti-semitism with someone who was created by Jewish people to represent them is gross. Taking things away from vulnerable minorities, especially when you’re trying to capitalize on “the zeitgeist of 2016“ for shock value is bad storytelling. These are the people who needed a hero because they don’t have one in real life right now. This just hammers home that white men will always betray you in the end. Thank you for putting into words why this is so viscerally awful, tone-deaf, and offensive, even if it is some “Gotcha!” gimmick. -- source link
