sincerelydayyy:for @sempaiko, thank you for the help! Hope you enjoy a little teaser for the Sansan fic <3[Takes place at the same time as The Oath [Braime Bodyguard AU], Sansa is trying to figure out the man who seems to always be there at the right time to help her in and out of her family’s coffee shop]Sansa had served many types of customers at her family’s coffee shop. Young and old, grouchy and tired, quiet and boisterous. None of which had caught her attention as much as the man who always ordered black coffee and nestled at the far end of the half bar that was near the counter for those who planned to just enjoy their beverage of choice and then dip out. The man with the dark beanie and heavy coat came in before Sansa’s shift, already perched in his spot. Sometimes she’d see him with a book but often times it was just him and his coffee. At the most, he gestured for a refill, but beyond that, she got nothing from him which was just as well. She didn’t have time to worry about one man when she was always on her feet trying to help everyone else. But, her curiosity was peaked. It wasn’t long before she began asking the others what they knew about him. Of which, was barely anything. He was an outdoorsman, a few people had spotted him in the mountains with an ax which could have meant just about anything. He came into town a handful of times throughout the week to stock up on groceries, and to grab coffee. That last tidbit was something she had already known since he seemed to favor their homebrew over the more popular establishments. Sansa wasn’t entirely sure why she was pulled towards him, but she found herself trying to pick up little ticks. She could have been more subtle about it, she thought once Tyrion Lannister had taken her aside the next time he had come in to ask her about it. “What’s going on with you two?” His eyes shifting between Sansa at the man at the end of the bar. Tyrion was much too inquisitive, but he had always done by right by her when she asked. So why she hadn’t yet was baffling in itself.“Nothing.” She paused, “Wait do you know him?”“Of course, San-we went to university together for a little while.” He backtracked as if he was suddenly amused by only giving her as little information as possible. “We’re not particularly close.”Sansa gave him a nod in acknowledgment. “Interesting. Anyway, how are you Tyrion?” She returned to the normal script of their friendship. Tyrion had the urge to roll his eyes, instead taking a bite out of his cherry danish. An urge to meddle was making itself known. Sansa was closing up a few weeks later. She had woken up later this morning, causing her to switch shifts with her brother Robb. She didn’t complain, only apologized for the inconvenience and got herself prepared for a long day. In truth of all the things that could go wrong, this wasn’t terribly bad. She had just gotten really invested in a romance novel before bed and couldn’t put it down. She still had twenty or so pages of it left to finish reading, she had left it at home to ease the temptation. All in all the working day hadn’t been the worst. She had gotten low on the change once and started to panic before Mr. Mysterious-in-a-Beanie slammed down a forty dollar bill as a tip before leaving without a word. This had bugged her, and she was pretty sure that she was going to give him a piece of her mind the next time she saw him. He hadn’t even let her thank him. You have to let people thank you, it was the courteous thing to do. She couldn’t have run after him then, there had been a long line of people, and the team was already working extra hard to try to handle it all in that time. She had filed it, for later. The keys had a way of getting stuck during lockup at times. She had asked her dad to put an order for either a new lock or a new set of keys altogether. He still hadn’t gotten around to doing either. She would have to do it herself, she knew. She gave it one more hard turn before turning around and nearly colliding into someone who had to have been there for a while. “You the owner?” She knew a sleazeball when she saw one, greasy hair made it worse with the man who could barely move let alone speak. She kept the keys in her hand, in a tight fist. She thanked the stars that her brother had given her a course in self-defense for cases like this. It hadn’t been the first time. “One of them.” She stated, with a forced grin. As she moved to the side, the man followed. She sighed knowing this was going to be a problem. She added another note for the next family meeting that wasn’t for a few days: she wouldn’t mind having a guard around if they could afford it, or at least keep someone around so they creeps would know to back off. She turned around walking backward intending on verbally ending this debacle if she could, the second obstacle seemed to rear its head. She had hit another wall in the form of a person. They were taller, and as she tilted her head up she realized that it wasn’t just any person. Beanie guy again, she didn’t have time to really have a good look at his face. She knew it was scarred and that he tried to hide his face because of that. He had his hand on her shoulder for half a second, before carefully moving her to the side and blocking the greasy man’s path. “Go home, old man.” He grunted. “Oh c’mon. I meant no harm really.” He lied. Her savior didn’t budge at all. As if to say if the sleazy didn’t get a move on he wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty, Sansa knew that that was the truth. He looked very capable. The man must have tried to move closer because next time she heard the sound of a body on the ground. “Didn’t hit him that hard. Typical.” He peered down at her, “You should get home.”Sansa nodded but couldn’t take her eyes off the body on the ground. She hoped he wasn’t dead. She would feel bad. Upon closer inspection the man’s breathing was visible. “Thanks.” She mumbled before starting to head down to the corner on the other side of the street. She paused, turning back around. “Hey, what’s your name?”He was bending down over the guy he had knocked out and trying to get him into a sitting position against the nearest building. He ignored her. “Hey!” She tried again. “Clegane.” He slightly turned towards her, before thinking better of it. “Now, get going.”Clegane was not his first name. She pursed her lips. “Clegane. Your next cup of coffee is on me,” she called. Clegane turned to tell her that he didn’t need the charity but she was out of view. He cursed. Damn woman. this will be a full fic/properly fleshed out, etc, probably after I finish The Oath. It’s nice to start thinking about this one a bit since there will be hints throughout the other fic.
