I realised that this can’t be true in The Half-Blood Prince Slughorn describes making a horcrux as splitting ones soul in two. This means that when Riddle made his Diary into a horcrux he split his soul in half and physically removed one half from his body and placed it in the diary. This means that he only had half of his soul left when he made his next horcrux, Marvolo’s ring. This half would have been split in half leaving only a quarter in Voldemort’s body. This goes on and on the amount of soul remaining in Voldemort halving each time he makes a horcrux until he had only 1/128 or 0.78125% left in his body. As shown in the graph above. So next time you wonder why Voldemort could have done some of things he did, remember how little human he had left in him. I don’t know about you but I think that this is crazy.Come on guys, I didn’t do maths for 14 notes#OKAY BUT CAN WE PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO APPRECIATE#THE OTHER THING THIS GRAPH THROWS INTO SHARP RELIEF:#THE FACT THAT FUCKING GINNY#HAD *HALF OF VOLDEMORT’S SOUL*#WHISPERING IN HER EAR AND CRAWLING INSIDE OF HER AND TRYING TO CONSUME HER FROM THE INSIDE OUT#YEAH#LIKE COOL HARRY HAS A SCAR AND CAN TALK TO SNAKES AND SOMETIMES GETS HEADACHES#POOR BABY#MEANWHILE GINNY ‘DERIDED BY FANDOM’ WEASLEY#TAKES IN HALF OF THAT FUCKER’S SOUL#AND STILL CAME OUT ON TOP#who’s your hero now harry potter fandom#yeah that’s what i thought (via riversonglife) Harry has more Voldemort in him than VoldemortThis would explain why Harry kinda sorta has Voldy powers while the diary fucking almost turns its soul fraction into a bodyAs much of a bad ass as Ginny is, she wasn’t a horcrux. The part of Voldy’s soul that was messing with her, was doing just that. It’s like the affect the locker had on the trio. Yes it gets into your head but it’s not actually residing within you. Harry on the other hand is actually a horcrux. It is part of his soul and is why he has the powers of Voldemort. The fact that he was able to fight against that part of his soul come in part from the fact that he grew up with it.Time out, I thought Nagini had been transformed into a Horcrux *before* Harry was…did it ever say anything explicitly in the books?its going by the order they were discovered/destroyed in the books. Nagini was definitely made before harry because making Harry destroyed Voldemort and until we see him return at the end of goblet of fire he doesn’t have the strength to do anything himself. Then after he returns to power he’s too obsessed with killing Harry and making general chaos to construct another one in my opinion. Besides, Tom Riddle was obsessed with magic/powerful numbers. When he asked about horcruxes he made it clear that he wanted to make seven. I believe he would have made all seven before his rise to power, and since snakes live long lives, it would make sense that nagini was an older horcrux. So he had seven before he killed Harry, technically making Harry the eighth horcrux. That means in sorcerer’s stone, Quirrel must have discovered the seventh horcrux in order to slap the dude on the back of his head. So really, voldy is left with only 0.390625% of a human soul by the time he dies (unless he regained the piece of soul in the horcrux he had to use) and Nagini is infused with way more of voldy’s soul than Harry ever was. And thats my theory. That, in addition to Voldy not having a corporeal body from which to construct a new Horcrux by the time we see him in GoF, means that Nagini was definitely made before Chap. 1 of PS. -- source link
