The Philadelphia family of Proctors and Wallis’s documented their lives—a lot! Mary Wallis, one of the ten kids in the family, kept an amazing scrapbook which she titled “Childhood Scrapbook of Mary Wallis, to end of High School in 1933.” This massive volume dates from 1915 to 1933 and is full of treasures that show what the life of a girl from an upper middle class family during the first third of the 20th century was like. This page shows the valentines she received in 8th grade. Happy Valentine’s Day! “You’ve Met Your Match!” From the Jane Wright Proctor Wallis family papers, 1833-2007Call number: Ms. Coll. 1310, Box 8http://ow.ly/huJl30hcxqC***Check out the Special Collections Processing Center blog here: https://pennrare.wordpress.com/***#HappyValentinesDay #loveinthelibrary #ValentinesDay #KislakCenter #librariesofinstagram #Pennlibraries #scrapbook #vintagepostcard #valentinescard #Philadelphia #specialcollections #scpc #librarychallenge #hearts -- source link
