zootycoon:my first time experiencing the far lands in their natural state… simply sublime. you can see how off the blocks are renderingmy little how-to in case anyone finds it helpful. involves p*racy but it’s an ancient version of minecraft so who cares.1. obtain minecraft 1.7.3 beta, this was the last version released before the far lands were fixed. since it’s too old to be available in the launcher it’s simpler to torrent a cracked version 2. if you are using the download i linked, navigate to C:\Users\(your name here)\AppData\Roaming. if you have minecraft installed already, there should be a “.minecraft” folder. we’re going to just move that out of the way by making a new folder called “backup” or something and putting it in there (you can just move it back to Roaming when you’re done). then copy the downloaded .minecraft folder to Roaming.3. you can attempt to launch minecraft 1.7.3 now by clicking MinecraftSP.exe in the new .minecraft folder you just moved to Roaming, but it didn’t work for me because i needed a 32-bit version of java, so if you have a modern computer you will probably need it too. this can be found to download and install here.4. after installing 32 bit java the MinecraftSP.exe should work. open it up, create a new world, save it, and exit the game.5. now you’ll need to download a program to edit the player data for your game to move the player to the far lands (since commands weren’t added yet in this version of the game, you can’t just /tp). i used NBTExplorer which can be found here. open it up and locate the player “Pos” values as shown below, double click on them to edit each coordinate. if you want to see the edge of the Corner Far Lands you can do 12550800, 130, and 12550800, more information on other areas can be found here. while you’re here, also edit the player’s health to change it to something unreasonable like 2000 in case the fall damage from being teleported kills you, then hit the save button and close.at this point if you open 1.7.3 back up you should be near the Far Lands. in the event that you suffocate from being teleported inside a hill exit the game and edit your coordinates again with a higher Y value. anyways, lag will be extreme and movement very stuttered, it’s possible the game will run out of memory and crash. for more information about why this happens and what you can see here look at the wiki pagecheers ;) -- source link
