every now and then for good or bad you’ll run across or stand beside a person so intensely feeling that the space around them won’t contain it. the city, of course has no place for this. no room. but you’ll still see people bleeding out of the cracks now and then, all their not fitting in-ness and all their not following customs. This man stood and electrified this corner. his entire body seemed charged with something unseen. The city whirred around him without care. I wonder at what was written on those pages in held so tight but just so much as not to crush them and if he accidentally ended up with an entire plum wardrobe or thought it out. if the plum was a kind of magic or something. I still, now, look, feeling like somehow he was tied to the energy of the old style train speeding by. the electricity that fueled both and the plum line that runs along both. the intensity with which both will run you over. I miss these things about the city sometimes. how a thousand thousand stories play themselves against the backdrop of stone and asphalt and no one cares anymore than they need to to get by. -- source link
