@the-roanoke-society Anchored Hearts - Reprisal AUHe didn’t grab her. That wasn’t his style. Joe coaxed, his hands guiding and gentle on her hips as she slid onto his lap. The stretch of her hips was pleasant when she settled and focused on the task at hand. The meeting with the Ghouls had gotten out of hand according to everyone but Joe. He said it was fine, but fine in her books didn’t include coming home busted up and stuck. To be fair the knife grazed his shoulder and the cut wasn’t deep, but it shouldn’t have gotten that far in the first place. Louise dabbed at the cut with a cotton pad soaked in disinfectant and cleaned it the best she could in the light coming through the window. Joe sat up straight, unconcerned by the pain, and leaned forward to brush her cheek with his nose. He kissed her cheek and down her jaw and she let him, carefully smoothing a bandage over the cut on his shoulder. With a firm hand she turned his head to the side. His lip was busted and a bruise was forming on his cheekbone. She sighed. “You’re lucky someone knows how to patch you up.”“I know it.” He said, grinning as she kissed the corner of his mouth before taking a cotton pad to it. -- source link
