The first time you explore the streets around Southwark Cathedral you’ll get a wonderful surprise when you turn a corner and see this thing in a dry dock: the Golden Hinde II – a perfect replica of the ship that carried Francis Drake around the world. This is the ship in which he sacked the Spanish treasure ships, sailed round the tip of Argentina, up the west coast of America, and got back home in time to fight off the Spanish Armada. It’s amazing to think that he lived with a crew of 80 blokes onboard this little ship for 33 months. -- source link
