I realized I never made a WIP for my latest remodel! Here we go, ladies. So, I have been following a doctrine lately where remodels should follow a bit of the old structure. When I re-did my Free Company, my FC mates wanted the main floor to be same since they enjoyed the merchant shop feel. When I worked on my house, I wanted to do similar. I first created this beautiful shiplap design after Thanksgiving, but at that time I was really feeling sad and upset with housing in general. So, I veered and made a depressing rainy day build, but I saved that concept so I could stare at it and imagine what my house remodel would be like. I knew the item slots were going to kill me, and that the overall look is bordering too realistic and I find in FF14 things like that are not well liked. BUT! This house was for me, not for thee, so I proceeded with my little dream house lol Initially, I wanted to recreate where my piano and bay window had been but with some updated windows. But the more I messed with it, I didn’t really love the idea. The space was a bit too shallow compared to how I had it before, so I tried making a sitting spot here but it’s like Why? I already had a sofa in front of it. I think a sitting spot with a pretty window would have made sense if it was perpendicular, but I wasn’t about to switch the entire room around. So I added a door and window here instead. I still was pretty focused on making a custom window, but as you can see with the final product I didn’t keep it. I found they were just a little too tall, it was throwing off the balance of the house a bit. And as I shrunk my windows, I made my kitchen smaller and smaller and I kind of enjoy it? Trying to figure out the kitchen more and more.Adding some touches that I had in my old build, like the hanging pot rack, which I eventually got rid of. I also replaced that bay window. Working more on figuring out the entryway. I eventually settled on black which I find to be more of a striking color contrast. So, I did something with every corner on my build and It’s very subtle, but I actually rounded the corners in order to cap the stage panels. If you’ve built with stage panels before, you’ll notice they have those studs, and you can either use a white rectangular partition and act like a single strip, or any other partition or slim furniture of your choice, but I took this a bit further and made a rounded cap of 6 partitions and I am really into that look. Last but not least, I made a very grandma chic bed but I was talked down from it and eventually just kept the lace. But I can share it here. IT ALMOST HAPPENED!! I don’t think I’ve ever made such a pink and girly thing before in my life. What was I thinking lol -- source link
