October 04: Who was your first Doctor?Nine. When too many people around me were crazy about Ten and mourned his regeneration into Eleven I decided I finally should give Doctor Who a try. So since I generally prefer series in chronological order and Classic Who was a bit difficult to access for me back then I started with Rose. It’s as simple as that.However, I once made a list about my “first” Doctors and ended up with something like this:Nine was the Doctor in my first episode of Doctor Who.Ten was technically the Doctor who got me into Who which, in a way, is also a first.Eleven was my first current Doctor.Five was the first classic Doctor I encountered thanks to Time Crash and Peter Davison was the first actor of the Doctor I saw live on stage.Three was my first classic Doctor in a complete serial (Time Warrior).One was my first black and white Doctor.Two was the first Doctor – apart from Five in Time Crash – I saw in a multi-Doctor story for the first time (The Five Doctors and The Two Doctors). He also was the Doctor in the first Who novel I read (The Indestructible Man).Six was the first Doctor where I struggled to get to like him after I only had watched his regeneration scene. Gladly, this state of mind wasn’t permanently.Eight was my first audio Doctor and since I had listened to some Eighth Doctor Adventures before I watched the movie he also was the first Doctor I only knew from other media.Four or Tom Baker, respectively, was the first actor of the Doctor I saw on telly, at least I think so, before I started to watch Doctor Who (Hounded Steele an episode of Remington Steele).Seven is the first Doctor for whom I can’t make up any firsts. Apart from the fact that Sylvester McCoy’s autograph is the first and only autograph of a Doctor I have.Twelve is the first new Doctor who was announced after I got into the fandom.So since there is the saying about your first Doctor is your Doctor you now know exactly who my Doctor is. -- source link
