sosungalittleclodofclay:pollaxed:sosungalittleclodofclay:pollaxed:qsy-complains-a-lot:It’s a real shame the people that are making zombie movies never overlap with the people knowing where weapons are located anywhere else but the US. That’s the Styrian Armory in Austria, it houses 32.000 pieces of muskets, pistols, arquebuses, shields, swords, polearms, armors and cannons, enough to arm several regiments.I’d like people to stop and think about it, if zombies are only stopped by extensive damages, then why would a modern firearm be your go-to weapon ? In comparison a Reiter outfit gives you bite-proof armor, two .69 pistols and a sword to hack away closing-in stragglers !also wouldn’t a tercio be super effective against zombers ? food for useless thoughts.I always yell angrily at The Walking Dead when they use short knives instead of spears.I MEAN SHARP POINTY STICKS WOULD WORK DECENTLY. D:I’m so surprised that no zombie apocalypse movie or videogame so far has utilized a glaive, (english)billhook, or lochabar axe.Um, pollaxe? POLLAXE! POOOOOLLAAAAAAAAAAXEE!!!!!!!!pollaxes are great, heavy, body intensive, stamina draining, beautiful masterpieces great all in one weapon… best used against armored heavy infantry. requiring lots of training to use correctly, and even more to use elegantly… and even then only for the prime years of that person’s life. Get something lighter and easier for people to learn and use for more of their life for zombie apocalypses, where it’ll be a long drawn out ordeal instead a very short, brutal fight.Define “heavy”? I mean, sure, a spear of similar size (like those Fiore use) would be lighter… But pollaxes aren’t necessarily that heavy. I mean… Making any weapon overly heavy is usually quite silly. As for the usage of it… Well, fencing with a pollaxe is rather different from smashing and thrusting through zombie heads.Personally, I’d go for one of those cozy pollaxes with a rather tiny axehead, a backspike, a thin topspike and a good, stout buttspike. And as @cam-shron said… MONTANTE! -- source link
