raygathex:Eryops was an Early Permian Temnospondyl, a large species of tetrapod amphibian, who preyed on smaller fish and amphibians. At about 5-6.5ft long and roughly 200lbs, it was a very large animal for its time and was probably vulnerable to attack only from animals like Dimetrodon. Eryops’ skull is very large for its size and its mouth was filled to the brim with teeth. Its likely that this animals filled the same ecological niche as modern day alligators and crocodiles. -- source link
