Marvin developed a mental state similar to dementia after Anti mentally tortured him by trapping him in a sort of time loop and slowly taking away everything Marvin cared about.  After Marvin broke out of this loop, he was devastated that he had been taken advantage of and been put in such a vulnerable position- to the point anti could take away the things he loved the most without Marvin even noticing until he had nothing left.  Marvin soon after started to show strange side effects from antis possession and mental games. He developed a condition similar to dementia- his devastation worsened when he found out. Some days Jackie would get a Marvin who would make his usual witty remarks and had his dramatic flare. Other days Jackie would wake up to Marvin in a panic, unsure where they were or who Jackie even was.  Some times it wasn’t so bad- it just took Marvin an extra long time to find a specific book he was looking for. Other times he would have a full breakdown because he had no clue why this stranger named Chase was in the room with him, he just wanted to go home…. Wherever home was to him. It only made things worse when he couldn’t even remember that much.  Over a few weeks the condition thankfully ebbed and Marvin recovered. He occasionally still had moments of short term memory loss, but never to the extreme of forgetting his boyfriend anymore.
