On August 9th, 2016, Colten was murdered by Gerald Stanley, a white heterosexual cis male residing in colonized Saskatchewan, Canada. Nearly a year and a half later, on February 9th, 2018, the Battleford Court of Queen’s Bench found Gerald Stanley not guilty of second-degree murder. It is reported that prospective Indigenous jurors were rejected by the defence team during the trial of Gerald Stanley. There continues to be no justice in stolen and colonized Indigenous/First Nations lands. We ask that you stand for justice beyond the corrupt court systems that perpetuate racist jurisdiction and ensure Indigenous death and erasure.
