mtgemporium:psychodon525:i-hate-chick-fil-a:Lisa Lerer of the The New York Times reports Tara Reade says that Biden supporters have been sending death threats threatening her and her daughter.Current Affairs reports that Biden campaign surrogate has called for the FBI to criminally investigate Current Affairs editor Nathan J. Robinson along with the Intercept’s Ryan Grim and Rolling Stone’s Katie Halper. It’s weird that Biden supporters became just like Trump supporters. After all that time claiming they were better and had common sense.I think for most Biden supporters it’s more like… This isn’t the most important thing right now. At all. The most important thing right now is getting Trump out of office. Or are you missing the whole “Trump is bringing back concentration camps.” “Trump is encouraging racism and sexism and homophobia and transphobia constantly.” “Trump is looking at a 70 thousand death toll, and ending the covid task force” “Trump was warned about covid-19 in January, multiple times, and chose to do nothing about it, which directly lead to a 70 thousand death toll, which again, he keeps touting as a ‘great success.’”Like… Yes. It’s not great what Biden did, but I literally don’t care about how icky you feel voting for someone who may have had some sexual misconduct in his past. We need you guys to get Trump out of office for the good of all the people in your country and all others. There’s literally nothing positive about Trump, and we all knew that from the beginning, but it was people who saw the shit with Hillary’s emails, saying “well she’s just as bad as Trump, I refuse to vote for her” that lead us to where we are now. Get off your damn high horse and vote Biden. Yes. He sucks. No. He’s not the ideal. Or even the first choice. Most people telling you to vote for him would rather have voted for anyone else. But he’s who you’re stuck with, and he’s who you need to vote for, in order to get a literal Nazi out of office, before he can continue to elect even more of his cronies onto the supreme Court. Consider this: Biden is a womanizer, and his supreme Court nominees are all also anti-women’s-rights. Bad. Very bad and not good. And Trump’s picks? Well they’re anti-women’s-rights, and anti gay rights, and trans rights, and poc rights, and basically this is about more than one thing, and we’re tired of hearing you say “they’re equally bad” when one is literally advocating for more death every single day, while the other has a whole team of people behind him, INCLUDING Bernie fucking Sanders, who will do as much as they can to inform him on how to operate better once he’s in office. Are you not forgetting the fact that Obama was extremely homophobic when he first ran? Meanwhile he’s the president who made gay marriage legal. Sometimes bad candidates can do good things. We’re tired of you comparing a literal Nazi who has raped many women, and bragged about it, and was friends with Jeffrey Epstein, to a guy who has been accused of sexual misconduct, and inappropriate comments. Are both bad? Yes. Are they equally bad? Uh… No.Biden supporters aren’t “just like Trump supporters.” Biden supporters want to get rid of Trump, and know that Biden, despite his shortcomings, is their best choice for this. We have common sense. We understand how elections work. We understand what must be done. We understand how shitty Biden will be, but we have the sense to understand that Trump is, point blank, worse. Period. A ton of the smear campaigns against Biden are literally paid for by Republicans, and Fox News is airing several segments about it too. Like… Trump’s team is VERY happy to hear that you’re upset about Biden, because if you don’t vote for Biden, and enough young, impressionable, gullible, and frankly stupid people like you keep pushing that agenda, it’ll be the emails all over again, and Trump gets another 4 years. I get it, you have morals. You made a decision to stand by women’s rights. So did we. We all still care about women just as much as you, and we truly hope that Biden has improved his act, or at the very least the people around him have the sense to keep those tendencies in check and out of policies. We just also care about people of colour. And we care about LGBT+ people. And we care about all the people who have been negatively impacted by covid-19. Personally I want to be able to look at the news and not immediately think “Wow America is the worst, how are they all so fucking stupid, how could they have allowed this to happen?” And then proceed onto the internet and see people like you, passing this shit around like a cheap blunt, pretending you’re “so woke” by refusing to vote for Biden. This is the exact rhetoric that led to Trump winning in 2016, and lots of Biden supporters have grown up and come to realize what they need to do to help their country heal. So again. Get over your sense of pride, get off your high horse, and do something slightly unsavoury for the sake of all LGBT+ people in America, and for all poc in America, and for all covid victims in America, and yes even for all women in America, because as horrible as you say he is, Biden will either work for better rights for women, or at the very least, not push them back any further like Trump’s team has been. Use your common sense. Be better. Vote Biden, even though we all wish there was a better option. Unless you literally value “well he squicks me out” more than “he’s a literal Nazi and we need to get rid of him.”The Democratic Party puts forth a subpar candidate who doesn’t care about the people the Democratic Party relies on to win elections, expecting their voter base to Vote Blue No Matter Who, and then the Democratic Party loses that election.Four years later, the Democratic Party puts forth a subpar candidate who doesn’t care about the people the Democratic Party relies on to win elections, and you think the problem here is that people won’t swallow their pride and vote for the lesser of evils? Not that the Democrats need to take a serious look at their goals as an organization, because they’ve demonstrated their complete inability to further the interests of their voter base in any way for two consecutive elections? And then you have the audacity to call other people stupid. -- source link
