Marta, meanwhile, is standing on the balcony of the mansion, sipping a drink from one of Ransom’s mugs and literally looking down at the Thrombeys. It’s a topical, heavy-handed parable: Marta, the hard-working Latina immigrant with a heart of gold inheriting the earth and besting a bunch of grossly privileged white people. It’s not subtle!
