feminismandmedia:Let me just say, The Babysitter’s Club was so good. They managed to bring in important topics while still keeping it light & good for children! There were at least two lesbian/gay couples, one gay child, and a trans child played by a trans actor. Most of these characters didn’t have storylines that revolved around coming out or how hard it was to be LGBTQ+, instead, it was just normal. One guy said his first kiss was with a guy. Everyone just rolled with it and didn’t be like “what you’re gay?!?” Lots of topics like feminism, ableism, & income disparities were brought up in a wholesome light hearted way. So yes.
