Isn’t ICE literally breaking the law?Abolish ICE. For anyone who cares. Students pay fees of upwards of $3,000 to apply for temporary student visas as well. (I was on one). It’s a stressful legal process and most people are advised to have a lawyer to even attempt it. They baited people to try to immigrate LEGALLY and set them up to break the law completely unknowingly. There is no way these kids could have even known they were breaking the law. And then deported them likely with perminant criminal records. Don’t forget the students paid tuitionNow I see why Tr*mp likes ICE so much. Fraud is in their genes. This is literally fraud and entrapment, sue the FUCK out of them! They’d get away with the fraud side, but it is certainly entrapment. They’d get away with that too, as it’s been whittled away to nothing by caselaw….1. Farmington University, the fake university in question, was created under Obama’s tenure as president. These operations were in full swing while he was in power. Trump only inherited the operation.2. The university exists because there are ‘universities’ that exist almost explicitly to allow people to get a student visa, which gets them into the country legally, but then the ‘students’ disappear into the woodwork as their visa becomes invalid.3. Farmington University offered zero courses. At all. None. And people already on visas were ‘recruiting’ for the university under the pretense of committing fraud, essentially offering the university as a way to hand out temporary visas that aren’t going to be used for study. The students were being told there were no classes being offered. The recruiters were not ICE agents. This is like the Feds setting up an illegal gun sale and the people they’re after suddenly bringing in several dozen other buyers.I’m not saying it isn’t entrapment. But, as per usual, Tumblr likes to leave out key details when getting morally outraged.High friends, just here to contribute.1) this is not entrapment. In order for it to be entrapment, the authorities have to force you to commit a crime and then arrest you for that crime. No one is forcing anyone to apply to this college.2) ICE is indeed terrible, but so is the DEA, the ATF, and arguably, the FBI. If you wish to end these government agencies, you have to stop asking big daddy government to do your bidding.3) a perfect example would be to find the middle ground between boarder security, and immigration access. Anyone of good character should be allowed to come to the states, and get a taste of that freedom (while we still have it) but we don’t want criminals. US Customs should be able to verify someone’s ID and check for a criminal record. (PS, I’m not even stating a criminal record should be a disqualification if the crime in question isn’t illegal in this country, by all means, you talked shit on a foreign crown, hide out here bud.) -- source link
