Read more (7/5/17)what in the actual high holy fuck…so if these kids don’t have a written job offer, a “gap year program ENROLLMENT” (aka fancy pricy vacation, unpaid internships & apprenticeships, or like the damn Peace Corps), or a college acceptance letter (and applications cost $50+ a pop before you even get in)— they’ll have to ENLIST IN THE FUCKING MILITARY to get their fucking DIPLOMAS?poor kids or kids not looking at college or people with non traditional jobs or home employment or who are gonna take care of family members or whatever… will have to either PAY into buying legitimacy… or sign up for the fucking army to get the high school diplomas they ALREADY EARNED aka BASELINE minimum job requirements even for like fucking mcdonald's…when people talk about the military having exploitative recruiting tactics: this is that. military industrial complex: this is that, via a school to army pipeline.when people talk about gentrification: this is that, because only kids with diplomas will be able to gain work & afford staying in chicago (unless they have illegal employment or remain a permanent underclass!! wow!!), and everyone who can’t afford to pay out the minimum graduation requirement fees— when graduating classes will all LITERALLY be in direct competition with each other AT THE SAME TIME to get jobs (the free option) to graduate, too— will have to choose between opting for a GED (expensive, btw), or gaining a diploma by transferring to private school (expensive!!!)/leaving the city for a new school in advance of graduation, thus driving “undesirables” out……or FUCKING ENLISTING. which gets them out and/or “cleans them up,” too.wow.Fuck, why not just bring in the draft?
