cespur:fabulous-kill-joy:cespur:lovelylabyrinth:katara:i think we’re moving past the point where gun control is the only issue at hand making guns against the law isnt going to stop these people, I meant they made murdering against the law and that didn’t stop them why would another law?are you stupid or what? how the fuck are they gonna kill that many people with their bare handsThey’d find a way to steal a gun, or maybe something worse, making something illegal won’t do anything, these things are still going to happen, and everyone shouldn’t have to suffer because of one person’s streak of insanity, they’ll suffer the consequences, people will grieve, and we’ll go on with lives, with that said, are YOU fucking stupid or something? This shit won’t stop if we outlaw guns, they’ll find a way, trust meim from a fucking country were guns ARE illegal and hey guess what in the past 70 years we had one mass shooting if youre honestly trying to make a case against gun control you should take some 5th grade statistics classesHey guys just kinda pointing out that making guns illegal on American soil violates constitution. The second amendment would have to be overwritten and I’m not sure that’s something that could happen anytime soon. Remember, guns are used for many reasons including hunting and recreational target shooting. To try to make guns illegal would cause a massive uproar by a pretty ridiculous number of Americans. Here’s a quick cover of the number of recent firearm purchases and ownership in comparison to the number of things like Mcdonalds and gas stations nationwide. Among the political powers, people tend to not realize how much the NRA (National Rifle Association) has to offer. They are the foremost defender of second amendment rights. I feel comfortable to say that they have enough power to swing Governor and even Presidential elections based on the candidates view upon firearms. They are as much a powerful ally as a powerful enemy and one thing is for sure. They will not relinquish their hold on the second amendment. Now for a few personal opinions and predictions. Murder happens. Death happens. Someday, you will die. In order to put this out of mind, people fill their lives with pastimes. My pastime is drawing. Now, if I were to lose my conscious state of mind and kill someone, I would most likely use whatever was in my hand. This would most likely be my favourite pencil. A relatively expensive metal, thin pencil that is sharp and sturdy enough to do some major damage. It also helps that I actually know how to kill someone with a pencil in several ways. I could list them, but I wont because I’m dangerously close to getting off topic. My point is- Are you going to make pencils illegal if I kill somebody with one? Are we going to make all knives illegal because they’re sharp and a very convenient murder weapon? Are we going to take away golf clubs and baseball bats? Bedside lamps and cars? Because if we make guns illegal then these are going to be some pretty common choices. Guns are things that have been in our lives for hundreds of years. They are a common pastime and quite frankly they are a huge part of the American lifestyle.Guns are powerful and fierce. They have terrible capabilities and can be the bringers of death. Except for this isn’t entirely true. Yes they are powerful, yes they are fierce, yes they have terrible capabilities, but no, guns do not bring death. Humans bring death. Mammals bring death, hell, all life brings death. I repeat- You. Will. Die. Whether it’s in fear or not. Unpopular opinion: It’s natural to die in fear or to be killed. Every other animal on the planet comes to a demise most likely brought on by another creature. Animals kill those of their own kind due to disputes and dominance and countless other reasons. It’s simply natural. Given, it’s also undesirable. I don’t want to die because of murder, but there’s no guarantee that I won’t. I’m ok with that. I’m ok with knowing that if I step outside I could very well be gunned down by a maniac in a van. The reason I’m ok with this is because I would rather live in a world with risk and questions and unknown than a safety shell. I don’t want the government to coddle me and pad all the table-corners. I don’t wish that upon anyone. And now you must be thinking that I wish mass murder upon the world. I don’t think guns will be turned illegal, nor do I want them to be. I believe that death (whether it be natural or forced) is simply a cycle that happens and that there is no way of preventing it. So what’s my solution?A support system. Stress relievers. Some people become situationally depressed or manic. There is nothing chemically wrong in their brain, their behavior is simply a product of stress, among other things. It’s very easy to distinguish these people from the clinically insane. I believe these people should be subject to rehabilitation and therapy. I believe that we should try to help them through their crisis and help them build a life for themselves so that they won’t be put back into that state of mind. Long term help. This would create a lot of jobs and could be a part of the jail/prison system as an alternative and could tap into their funding. As for the people clinically insane, I believe that they should be medicated and closely monitored in communities that can support them. Towns with sections of designated housing for the unstable, but not sectioned off. If they can be reintegrated into society then that’s great. But of course there are some people who indisputably and undeniably belong in a mental home and that’s where I think they should stay. All in all, if we try to handle the murders from their true source, the human, then I believe that is truly fighting crime. Taking guns and firearms away if just going to piss people off and cause an uproar. -- source link
