Louis Charles had been kept separated from his family for two years and suffered from ill health which was exacerbated by periods of severe neglect and both mental and physical abuse.Twenty years after his death, the man who conducted an autopsy on his body would write that he believed the boy’s death was due to “the terrible treatment, body and soul, that the infant had endured for so long.” He was only 10 years old. -- source link
