merlin-willcome-withme:#you know it just struck me how fantastic this moment is for them#just how much is shows Arthur’s trust in Merlin#Merlin literally walks up and tells Arthur to pull a sword out of a rock#something which by all rights should be impossible #and in front of half his kingdom#this is a moment which should logically go completely pear shaped and destroy Arthur’s confidence in himself and his people’s faith in him#that is what should happen #that is what is GOING to happen as far as Arthur knows#but Merlin has faith in him #Merlin wants Arthur to trust in him and in himself#and Arthur goes forth in front of everyone and their mother and puts himself and everything he is on the line#all because he trusts Merlin#because he knows that Merlin would never ask him to do something like this if it wouldn’t work#he trusts in Merlin’s trust in him #and it pays off #and it’s beautiful (jjlj13)couldn’t have said it better myself -- source link
