And I tend to take it as Loki having actually co-operated with Thor to bring down Malekith, no matter what he planned to do afterwards. Because there’s this sort of “Oh SHIT” quality to the way he’s looking at the aether in this moment that makes me think Loki cannot believe his brother failed in this. Loki, no matter how much he resents his brother’s talents and gifts, still has utter faith in them. And for all he mocked the plan earlier, he still thought it was going to work. Because it was Thor who made it, and Thor is the hero, and Thor never loses. -- source link
