A Unexpected Ending to a Game of Thrones,Bela I was one of four brothers born of King Peter of Hungary. In Hungarian monarchical tradition the other brothers of the crown prince were obliged to leave the country in order to prevent the possibility or war or squabbling over the throne. The eldest son, Andrew, become king while Bella moved to Poland. While in Poland he served as a great military leader under King Casimir I. Bela’s reputation as a soldier and commander spread all over Eastern Europe, causing his brother, King Andrew to recognize him as a valuable asset. Andrew recalled Bela to Hungary in 1048 AD, giving him 1/3rd of the kingdom and a promise that he would be first in line to inherit the throne. The two brothers co-ruled over Hungary peacefully. Then in 1053 King Andrew gave birth to a son, Solomon. Determined that his son should become king rather than his brother, Andrew disinherited Bela and bumped his son up to being first in line to the throne. As expected, Bela was not very happy about this arrangement. He went back to Poland pouting over being cheated out of the throne. Two years later he returned to Hungary, this time with a grand army which he used to overthrow his brother Andrew. Andrew was mortally wounded on the battlefield, and Bela declared himself King of Hungary. Bela was merciful and spared the life of his niece, Solomon, sending him into exile. After years of exile, war, and conflict, Bela was crowned Bela I, King of Hungary. As king he sat on the throne which was his noble right. When he sat on the large wooden throne of Hungary, the noble chair collapsed, killing Bela instantly.Bela’s nephew, Solomon, was crowned King of Hungary shortly afterwards. -- source link
