I’m starting a new project. After re-reading The Iliad & The Odyssey, & Homer’s frequent references to the “wine-dark sea,” I need to paint it. I’ve been trying to get into watercolor painting for well over a year now & this is … we’ll, it’s a sketch, a brush technique exercise, & an attempt to get what’s in my head on paper. At least I can see what works & where I’ve gone completely off the rails. I’m a words & photography guy, not a brush & paint guy. Not yet, anyway. Yeah, I need a whole ton of practice. That’s a good thing. It looks much better small & very far away. No, the water isn’t “wine-dark” yet. Soon, tho.
