ein-bleistift-und-radiergummi:Fred Rappaport Woodcut ‘Jump Rope’ - Date Unknown.(Rappaport (1912-1989) was born in Vienna, Austria. He studied art at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna. In 1938, he immigrated to the United States, settling in Chicago. There he attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Illinois. After graduating, he practiced art therapy and also taught art at the Chicago Jewish Community Center, Suburban Fine Arts Center and Studio 514. Rappaport exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, The Chicago Athenaeum, and the Chicago Society of Artists. He was a member of the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago, the American-Jewish Art Club, and the Art Institute of Chicago (retrospective after his death).
