The Rohm RG14 Revolver,A cheap German made pistol, this little .22 caliber revolver carries on the Rohm legacy of making cheap, low quality, piece of crap guns.  Before I did a post on the RG10 in .22 short.  The RG14 is a continuation of the budget revolver line.  Chambered in .22LR, it feature a snubby design that is more compact that the older RG10.  However, the quality of it is the same.  They are inaccurate, under powered, and of incredibly poor quality.  One of the their biggest complaints is the spewing of hot gasses all over the user when fired.  This thing really is a worthless piece of junk.  I mean look at it, it looks like a toy capgun.Despite its looks it still is a dangerous weapon.  In 1981 a man named John Hinckley Jr. used an RG14 in an attempt to assassinate President Ronald Reagan.  Hinckley, a very disturbed individual, believed that killing the president would impress the actress Jodie Foster, a woman he was also stalking.  The pistol in the picture above was his.  He wounded the president, a secret service bodyguard, a police officer, and press secretary James Brady.  Brady, left paralyzed on his left side after the attack, together with his wife Sarah Brady found the Brady Campaign, today one of the most active gun control organizations in the country. This directly lead to the Brady Bill, requiring gun dealers to conduct background checks on all sales, and in part to the 1994 Assault Weapons bill which banned certain types of semi-automatic rifles.  John Hinckley Jr. is currently institutionalized in a psychiatric hospital and probably will be for life.peashooter however is puzzled as to how Hinckley could have pulled such a dastardly deed with such an incredibly crappy weapon. -- source link
