The Burach Bhadi is a leech-like creature found in Scotland’s western isles. The Burach Bhadi is described a gigantic leech with nine eyes that is dark in color. The Burach Bhadi is said to be attracted to the smell of horses and if someone rides a horse across the water where it’s hiding it will wrap itself around the horse and it’s rider and drag them under the water and devour them and if food is scarce the Burach Bhadi will eat each other. -- source link
