I began the cabin project because I was unhappy… unhappy in life in general and unhappy with my work. I was kind of bored with the jewelry work, and was’t getting any commission work, definitely not anything that inspired me. So I decided to bring this crazy idea that I had to make a stained glass cabin out of old window frames to life. I am sooo happy I gave myself this gift of following my whims. The cabin gas given me a real pride in my work and has helped me refine my style and really figure out the type of work I want to make. It has also brought me so many opportunities….an incredible installation @foundingfarmkop and a teaching gig at the gorgeous creative retreat @plumnelli … BUT all of that awesome stuff has kept me from working on the cabin. It’s been over a year since I’ve added a new window. I made my new year’s resolution to create new work just for me and the cabin, and I’ve finally made the time for it….and I’m in love! Work is in progress on this Aspen/Birch polypore oyster mushroom stag beetle extravaganza! I can’t wait to get it in the cabin!
