talesfromweirdland:I’ve already talked about Once Upon a Time… Space (1982) being a very early sci-fi influence on me—another one was this show, BATTLE OF THE PLANETS (1978).I believe it was a sort of neutered version of the Japanese anime, Gatchaman. I didn’t know that then of course; I just knew I found the villain, Zoltar, very sinister and menacing—and even scarier was The Spirit, with whom he sometimes conferred. Nightmares. -- source link
