Color Harmonies From the Birds: Carolina Wren by Kyle TansleyEver since I got my hands on a book on fancy chickens, I have realized that birds over some lovely color harmonies. This photo, taken in Vermont, was part of the Great Backyard Bird Count publicity sent by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, that is the study of birds. The count is a giant citizen-scientist effort to give us an idea of which birds are where and how well they are doing. The Dress Doctors advised us to look to nature for color harmonies ideas. And the minute I sew this little bird, I appreciate its colors. I can imagine a blouse in the yellow orange color worn with a suit in the yellow browner color, or both colors in a charming plaid, can’t you? You can see lots of bird portraits and their color harmonies, as well as hear their calls, watch live bird webcams, at the website of the lab which you will find here: https://www.birds.cornell.edu/homeAnd learn more about the bird count here: https://www.birdcount.org/ -- source link
