artofprayer-blog:Once every year or two, the rising sun ray shines along the Catholicon and the Rotunda into the entrance to the Aedicule, which contains the Sepulcher itself, for about 15 minutes and illuminate the inner rooms of the Aedicule. This alignment is too precise to be widely considered to be formed by chance since, it only happens during the holy week of Pascha/Easter. In this photo a newly positioned Armenian bishop in Jerusalem was blessed with the holy light in his back, and in way to intensify it is usually customary to blend the light with smoke from incense burners.
