The only known portrait bust of the short-lived Romanemperor Spongerobertius Quadrabraccatus. After serving as provincial governor of Bikinia Inferior,Spongerobertius seized the throne for himself in 1999 CE, deposing the agedemperor Eugenius Cancer. With the aid ofhis loyal praetorian prefect Patricius Stellatus, he earned a reputation as awise and virtuous ruler, but a critical water shortage engineered by his enemyPlanktonianus brought about his downfall.
