I suppose he was committing some awful crime that warranted being beaten to death while screaming for his dad and begging for mercy, though. What was his crime again? Bothering the owners of Slidebar by being in the parking lot? Oh my bad it was ‘vandalizing cars’ and ‘resisting arrest.’Don’t forget Samantha Ramsey and Dillon Taylor… I’m kinda tired of seeing it being racial. True, black victims make a big chunk of those who get shot or brutally attacked by cops but they’re not the only ones. It’s all about cop privilege, really…It’s incredible how eager leftists are to erase non-black victims like Daniel Chong, Bounkham Phonesavanh, and Gamal Abdelaziz. It’s also incredible how eager right-wingers are to lick the heels of police.I hope all of you reading this right now see just how easy it is for the real issue to get lost among mainstream ‘left-right’ discussion. Victims are ignored on both sides to pursue a narrative that is incompatible with the extreme (but loud) opinions on either side of the spectrum. It turns out police brutality is an epidemic which effects every single one of us, even those of us fortunate enough to sit at a device writing this shit up. Every time a cop brutalizes an American without repercussion, it sets a precedent for a million cops to follow. “Not all cops"—but enough. Enough that police have killed over 5,000 Americans since the start of the War on Terror; enough to ask the government for military hand-me-downs for use against a predominantly peaceful community. Enough that the NYPD’s “stop and frisk” program was overtly racist, disproportionately targeting NYC’s black and Latino populations; enough that over 100 American homes are raided by SWAT teams every single day.It is pretty clear that the only solution here is to dissolve the federal government.First and last paragraphs of priceoflibery’s post, ladies and gentlemen. We have found the solution. -- source link
