Being a Christian can be dangerous in Iran. If you’re from a Muslim background you can be imprisoned for choosing to follow Jesus. That’s what happened to Iranian Christian Nasser Navard Goltapeh. He’s been in Evin prison for the last two years. He was arrested for ‘establishing house churches’.Nasser recently wrote to Christians around the world. He starts quoting another Christian who also spent time in prison for their faith - Paul, who wrote a big chunk of the New Testament.“Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel.”Philippians 1:12In his letter from January 31st, Nasser writes: “I am confident in all hardships and I believe I will bcome free by Him who I have hope… the Lord our God does not forget his children… so let me bold and say, ‘The Lord is my helper.’”“Remember me in your prayer always - you know that your prayers are a sweet smelling offering to God and a sacrifice which is accepted and pleasing to him.”Pray for Nasser today. Thank God for his incredible brave faith and that his hope of seeing the gospel advance because of his perseverance will come true. Pray for more courage, that his family will come to know Jesus and that the Iranian government would stop persecuting Christians. -- source link
