Who are you when you feel the most vulnerable?When someone pokes at your freshest wounds, maybe accidentally, who shows up to meet them?When I feel vulnerable, I can get mean. I look to criticize that person, their actions that reminded me of some past pain. Defensiveness is far from my natural state, and I don’t like who I become when this happens.It is much easier to blame another than to take complete responsibility for our own feelings. But that ownership is where true freedom lies.Our emotions come from our experiences, and we can only be truly triggered when we are reminded of a painful experience we haven’t fully processed.It is our personal responsibility to heal. But healing is a community project as well.Taking responsibility for my emotions has helped me feel so empowered to heal. No one is “making me feel” anything. I create my own reality.Emotions come up to tell us what our thoughts are manifesting. We get tricky emotions as a signal to us that we should shift our thoughts if we want to shift our reality.Emotions, even the difficult ones, help us grow so much.
