artofpolis:quick portrait of brother Ignatius David, OFMThis is a friend of mine, who I’ve known for over 20 years now. We grew up together, went to the same class at school and stayed in touch after graduation. Faith and religion was always a part of his life, he was an altar server (well, half of my classmates were) and a memeber of Light-Life Movement. He has other interests too, but honestly, when friends and I learned that he decided to join the Order of Friars Minor (Franciscans), it just made perfect sense. It realy fealt like the right road for him. And now, after couple years have passed, he grew into an amazing man, full of joyment of life, inner peace and genuine curiosty about people he mets on his way. I know he struggles sometimes, cause it is a huge responsibility, to be a sign of God, but I hope to God, he will make it well. He once told me that joining the monastery was kind of like becoming a member of a huge family that has a home or a family relative living in every town and village. Like everywhere you go, you have someone to look after you.I remember a moment from his minor holy orders, when he and his brothers of order laid on the floor and everyone was praying for them, asking the saints to look after them. It all felt so real, like there’s this huge army in heavens that will march alongside of him and take care of him.I’m just so proud of him, and as today is a World Day of Consecrated Life, I wish him, and others that choose simliar path as him, all the blessings and lots of God’s love. -- source link
